A person has died in hospital following a crash in the Bay of Plenty.
Police say this is the second person to die following the crash on State Highway 30 in Rotorua.
Emergency services were called to the two vehicle crash at 11.20am on Monday.
The road was closed for several hours, and re-opened jsut before 4pm.
In a updated statment released overnight, a police spokesperson says three people remain in hospital with serious injuries.
"Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing."
Anyone with information relavant to the crash is urged to contact their nearest police station.
Alternatively, information can be left anonymously via the Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 line.
Non-emergency information can be phoned into the police's 105 number.
