State Highway 30 is closed as emergency services deal with a serious crash.

NZTA Waka Kotahi have released an alert saying SH30 in Rotorua to SH33/Tikitere is closed.

"Due to a serious crash, SH30 is closed between Lee Road and Robinson Ave.

"Delay your journey or consider an alternative route."

A police spokesperson says officers are responding to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of State Highway 30 and Hannah Road.

"The crash was reported around 11:20am.

"The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.

"The road is blocked at the intersections of State Highway 30, Lee Road and Robinson Avenue, diversions are in place, motorists are advised to expect delays."
