State Highway 1 in the Bay of Plenty Police District is closed following a serious crash.
Police are responding to a serious crash on State Highway 1, near the Rotoaira Rd intersection, Taupo.
"The road is closed and motorists are advised to take an alternate route," says a police spokesperson.
"Initial reports indicate occupants of the two vehicles are injured.
"The Serious Crash Unit have been advised.
"More information will be provided when available."
