Police are reporting a serious crash in Tapapa, near the Bay of Plenty/Waikato border, this morning.

Emergency services are responding to a serious crash on Tapapa Road, Tapapa.

"The single-vehicle collision occurred on Tapapa Road about 6:16am," says a police spokesperson.,

"Initial indications are that two people have been injured."

While Tapapa is geographically located in the Waikato Region, it is police by the Bay of Plenty Police.

Tapapa Road comes off of State Highway 5, near Mamaku in the Bay of Plenty, and SH28.

This will affect people who travel from Tauranga to the Waikato over the Kaimai Range and via SH28.
