A further three people have been arrested in relation to an aggravated robbery that occurred in Rotorua in July.

On the evening of Sunday July 31 four people, armed with weapons, entered Kawaha Point Liquor Store and made threats to staff.

The group attempted to steal alcohol from the store and assaulted a staff member, who tried to intervene.

The offenders then exited the store.

"One person, a 14-year-old male, was stopped by a member of the public and subsequently arrested at the scene," says Rotorua Police Detective Sergeant Tony Colby.

"The other three offenders left prior to Police arrival, but have all since been arrested."

An 18-year-old male is scheduled to appear in Rotorua District Court on Thursday, August 11, on charges relating to aggravated robbery and unlawfully taking a motor vehicle.

The 14-year-old male and another 18-year-old male are due to appear on charges relating to aggravated robbery and unlawfully taking a motor vehicle in Rotorua Youth Court.

A 12-year-old male is due to appear on an aggravated robbery charge in the Rotorua Youth Court at a later date.

"As these matters are now due before the Courts, Police is unable to provide further information," says Rotorua Police Detective Sergeant Tony Colby.
