Two people have died following two separate crashes in Waikato on Friday.

One crash involving a motorcycle occurred in Otorohanga and one crash involving a car occurred at Amodeo Bay in Coromandel.

Police can confirm one person has died following a crash on Kawhia Road, Otorohanga. Emergency services were alerted to a motorbike that left the road and went into a ditch at around 3.45pm on Friday January 14.

One person was airlifted to Waikato Hospital where they sadly died.

Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.

Police can confirm one person has died following a crash at the intersection of Colville Road and Waitete Bay Road in Amodeo Bay in Coromandel. Emergency services were alerted to a car that went over a bank at around 7.30pm.

Sadly, one person was located deceased in the vehicle.

Road closures will be in place for several hours in Amodeo Bay from 9am on Saturday January 15 while Police conduct enquiries following Friday night's fatal crash.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area or expect delays.
