One seriously injured following Kawerau incident

A person has been taken to hospital following an incident in Kawerau this morning.
Police were called to the Kawerau South area about 6.15am following a report of a person being found injured.
Local residents report that the TECT Rescue helicopter and other emergency vehicles have been at Prideaux Park in Kawerau this morning, and there is police presence in Walter Nash Ave.
"That person was transported to hospital in a serious condition," says a Police spokesperson.
"Enquiries into the circumstances of how they came to be injured are ongoing."
