Roadworks and detours around Rotorua

People travelling around the Rotorua region are being warned of potential road works that could cause some delays.

Starting this week there are a number of road resurfacing works taking place in the city, says a post on the Rotorua Lakes Council Facebook page.

These include:

Fenton Street (Whakaue St/Fenton St intersection) March 11 and 12 (Day time)

Rangiuru (Pukaki St to Lake Road) March 14 and 15 (Day time)

Pukuatua St (Ranolf St to Amohia St) April 6 and 7 (Night time)

Hinemaru St (Queens Dr to Pukuatua St) April 10 and 11 (Day time)

Fenton St (Fenton St and Pukuatua St) April 5 (Night time)

"There will be some detours whilst the works are being undertaken, however the pedestrian footpaths will remain open," says the council.

"As you may be aware there are a number of resurfacing works taking place around the city at this time.

"This is because the warmer months are the best time for resurfacing as daylight hours are longer and the warm temperatures and dry air help the new seal stick to the road surface."

As such, this work is whether dependent and may have to be postponed if weather effects the programme.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by these works and will make every effort to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum.
